Do you feel unmotivated to look after basic needs like eating healthily, getting fresh air, taking a nap because of the emotional stress your caring role brings with it?

Do you feel like your emotions are changing into depression following the amount of time you spend looking after someone with a life-limiting illness?

Carers often feel under-appreciated and under-valued with little attention paid to their needs and feelings.

Many of my clients are carers for example, looking after family members with dementia, and they appreciate the opportunity to talk about their caring role in our sessions, without their family member being present.

For a significant number it has been the first time that they talked about how caring is affecting them. Some need to explore more about how they are feeling. For others, it is a chance to have some time out and discuss things with someone who listens and understands.

Many of my clients have said that just being listened to has helped them to get a new perspective on their situation and as a result, develop different ways of thinking and coping.

If you experience some or all of the above symptoms, I can help you address them as a starting point to creating change. As your first step, you can book a free “Get-to-Know” session (using Zoom or telephone).

Together, we will look at how you think about the situation you find yourself in. The focus can be to explore your feelings or to look at what is going on for you in regards to the person you care for.

My aim is to help you find your own solutions by looking at your options and finding a way to cope and make decisions about your life. Our meetings will be a chance to focus entirely on you and to think about what you want.
