Do you feel overwhelmed or upset because you don’t know what is going to happen to your body, or how much time you have left?

Do you feel helpless, sad, shocked, angry and so low that you can’t do any of the things you used to?

Do you find it hard to talk to the people closest to you about what you are going through, as they are dealing with their own feelings about it?

It can be difficult to define what a life-limiting or terminal illness is, as everyone is different, reacting to illnesses in different ways.

Some people with a terminal illness live for days, others for weeks, months or even for years, depending on the specific diagnosis, their condition(s) and on their treatment regime.

People I’ve worked with have had neurological diseases, heart disease, advanced cancer, dementia, multiple sclerosis, lung disease or a combination of those. Treatment and care mostly focuses on providing the best quality of life for you that is possible, managing your symptoms and pain, and offering practical support.

I will offer you emotional support.

If you experience some or all of the above symptoms, I can help you address them as a starting point to creating change. As your first step, you can book a free “Get-to-Know” session.

Addressing your emotional needs may be all that is needed for some. Others may want support in coming to terms with their approaching death. Initially, some find it impossible to come to terms with the shock of the diagnosis itself even though it is difficult to predict how long after diagnosis someone will live.

Often friends or family members can give valuable emotional support, but there are times when it is much easier to relate to someone neutral outside of your support bubble, such as a counsellor.
